Choral Society Holiday Concert Planned For Morristown
The Morris Choral Society is celebrating its 49th season with its annual holiday concert scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morris Choral Society is celebrating its 49th season with its annual holiday concert entitled “Holiday/Favorites” on the Morristown Green.
The holiday concert is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on the Green in Morristown. The chorus will perform a variety of holiday music under the direction of Music Director Michael Shane Wittenburg.
The chorus will also be asking the audience to join for a sing-along and the concert will conclude with the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.

Fort Lee resident Michael Wittenburg, the organization's fourth musical director, is not only a well-liked conductor but also a respected musician. Ruth Loredo, a renowned classical pianist, has praised Wittenburg as a "real virtuoso."
Along with overseeing the Morris Choral Society, Wittenburg also holds the positions of Chorus Master for the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera and Director of Music at Christ Lutheran Church in Paramus.

“It is an honor to be the Music Director for the Morris Choral Society,” Wittenburg said. “This holiday concert has been a mainstay of our season and everyone will really enjoy it. We have a great group of singers and they have worked hard to prepare for this program.”
For the performance, Jennifer Yang will serve as the concert's accompanist once more. She is a skilled pianist and organist with degrees from Yonsei University in South Korea and Westminster Choir College in Princeton.
Yang travels the world giving solo recitals, chamber concerts, and choir concerts, and she is the organist at the Morristown United Methodist Church on the Green.
Tickets for the holiday concert are currently available through the Morris Choral Society website or can be purchased at the church on Dec. 10.
