East Hanover Ave Reopened Following Morning Crash

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — UPDATE: The road was reopened around 10:30 a.m.

Original Story: A serious crash has closed a major Morris Township road Thursday morning, police said.

East Hanover Avenue is closed near the I-287 overpass as of 7:30 a.m., police said. Police did not give more information about the crash, except to categorize it as "serious."

Morristown Police are reporting heavy congestion throughout Morristown as a result of the crash.

Police did not say when the road will reopen. Drivers are asked to avoid the area of the crash, and expect significant delays throughout Morristown.
