Tractor-Trailer Crash, Fuel Spill Shuts Route 80 In Morris County

Half-hour delays mounting in Rockaway Township Monday afternoon.

ROCKAWAY, N.J. - A motor vehicle crash and fuel spill on westbound Route 80 Monday afternoon has shut three lanes, traffic reports show.

According to 511nj.org, the crash occurred around 12:25 p.m. near the Exit 35/Mount Hope, and the two left lanes of the roadway have been shut.

A 25 to 30 minute delay was building while crews tried cleaning up the scene.

New Jersey State Police told Patch the crash involved a tractor-trailer but there were no injuries, and first responders on scene were waiting for HAZMAT crews to clean up the spill before reopening the roadway.
