Tuesday Is National Therapy Animal Day, And This Morris Co. Group Is Ready To Celebrate
You can meet dogs, rabbits, and cats who are certified therapy animals - and learn more about the work of NJ's Creature Comfort Pet Therapy.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — A local pet therapy organization will bring several of their four-legged friends to Morristown on Tuesday, for an annual celebration of National Pet Therapy Day.
In a social media post, Madison-based Creature Comfort Pet Therapy (CCPT) said they will have therapy dogs, rabbits, and cats ready for a meet-and-greet. .
The event runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30 at the Vail Mansion lawn (110 South Street, Morristown NJ 07960).

Attendees can interact with the animals and take photos, while also learning more about the significance of pet therapy and the work CCPT does in the community. All attendees who sign up to receive the Creature Comfort newsletter will be entered into a giveaway for a $100 gift card to Stirling Tavern.
Assemblywoman Aura K. Dunn of Chester (R-NJ-25) will present a joint legislative resolution at 4 p.m. to recognize the importance of pet therapy and the group's efforts, according to an event announcement.

This volunteer organization makes about 300 visits per month to its partner facilities, such as libraries, schools, children's services, hospices, mental health centers, and veterans' programs. Certified therapy teams work with each location to individualize the visit.
CCPT serves all of Essex, Morris, Passaic and Somerset counties and parts of Bergen, Middlesex, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties. According to their website, there are more than certified 500 volunteer teams, "including dogs, cats, rabbits, a goat, guinea pigs and a mini horse."
