History buffs of all ages are invited to check out the Spring Encampment at Jockey Hollow, which focuses on the lives of soldiers and civilians during the Revolutionary War. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be demonstrations of how General George Washington's Continental Army lived during their stay in Morristown and other historical programs. Celebrate the history of America's national pastime on Saturday with a 19th-century baseball game at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, with teams playing under 1860s rules. The Flemington Neshanocks take on the Hoboken Nine at noon, with activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, and ages two and under are free. Morris Authors Day is on Saturday, where local writers, poets, and illustrators stop by the Morris County Library for a day of literary learning and demonstrations. Independent music shops across the U.S. are participating in National Record Store Day on Saturday. The stores’ promotions are as independent as their businesses are, but with a range of genres and artists to fit any groove. Wise Animal Rescue and TB Yoga House are partnering for a 'Doggy Yoga' and adoption event on Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can meet some adoptable dogs, stop by the "puppy kissing booth," and build a flower bouquet to raise money for shelter pets. And, The Opera at Florham is performing highlights from "La Traviata," Verdi's classic tragedy which "explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the conflict between personal happiness and social conventions." The show is Sunday at 2 p.m. and tickets are $30 for general admission, $10 for students 25 and under, and free for children and students under 25. Tickets also available at the door.
