'Love Free or Die' Movie Screening

Love Free or Die, the movie about Bishop Gene Robinson, will be shown at Church of the Redeemer at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 10.

Winner of a special jury prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, this documentary is about the first openly gay person to become a bishop. The film follows Robinson's personal story, highlighting his consecration as a bishop in 2003, the backlash from conservatives worldwide, and the Episcopal Church's decision in 2009 to continue to ordain gay bishops.

Footage in the film follows Bishop Gene from small-town churches in New Hampshire to London's Lambeth Palace.

The event is free, and an offering will be taken to support further promotion of the film. Refreshments and discussion will follow the showing of the film.

Church of the Redeemer is located at 36 South Street in Morristown. This screening of Love Free or Die is co-sponsored by Church of the Redeemer Morristown and St. Gregory's Episcopal Church Parsippany, with assistance from the Diocese of Newark's OASIS and Integrity NYC-Metro.
