The Fairy Returns: Morristown Do-Gooder Promises to Bring Warmth to Homeless

Knitted hats, scarves will make appearances on The Green this winter, anonymous resident says.

Another northern New Jersey winter is quickly approaching, which means brutal cold and painful conditions will fill the days and nights.

But the Morristown Fiber Fairy has promised to do her best to help those in need, telling news outlets Monday the warm hats and scarves mysteriously and anonymously placed around the Green will return again this winter season.

“We are getting ourselves ready to begin bringing warm winter hats and scarves to the Green so that people who find themselves in need of something warm can have a handmade hat or scarf,” the Fiber Fairy posted on Facebook.

The Fiber Fairy, an anonymous Morristown resident, began placing quilted goods around the Morristown Green two winters ago to help the homeless in need. When all the supplies were gone, more would suddenly appear for others to take.

“We can’t say exactly when it will be but keep your eyes open,” the message said. “We not only want to help people in need during the winter months but we also hope to bring attention to the issue of homelessness in our beautiful town of Morristown.”
