The title for Chilton Medical Center's first 2022 baby remains up for grabs. The Pompton Plains hasn't reported a 2022 birth as of 1 p.m. Monday, according to an Atlantic Health System spokesperson.

An estimated 371,504 babies were born on New Year's Day, including 10,312 in the United States, according to UNICEF. Fiji welcomes the first New Year's babies, while the United States welcomes the last each year.

With an average life expectancy of 82 years, many will ring in the year 2100 during their golden years.

One last fun fact: 2022's New Year's babies are the first to share George Jetson's birth year. The Jetsons' patriarch was born Aug. 22, 2022 — the show is set in 2062.
