5 New Police Officers Hired In Morristown
In the past month, five new officers have been introduced as new hires to the Morristown Police Department.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morristown Police Department announced the recent hiring of five new officers this past month.
The five new officers were introduced by Chief of Police Darnell Richardson and Director of Public Safety Michael Corcoran.
Officer Arturo Layza has been working for the Morristown Police Department for two months, Richardson said. As a police officer, he will work to maintain public safety, enforce laws and regulations and respond to emergencies.

Layza graduated from Berkeley College with a Bachelor's Degree. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and girlfriend, as well as trying new restaurants, according to officials. He enjoyed playing men's soccer in college, which gave him the opportunity to travel.
Officer David Moran joined the Morristown Police Department three months ago after graduating from the Essex County Police Academy—Alternate Route Program. Moran graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. His interests include following his favorite Philadelphia sports teams, attending concerts, fishing, hiking and traveling, Richardson said.

Officer Jorge Ramirez joined the Morristown Police Department three months ago after graduating from the Morris County Public Safety Academy. Ramirez graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies.
He served on active duty with the United States Army from 2013 to 2018 and is now an active reservist with a total of nine years of service and the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Officer Morgan Pfeil joined the Morristown Police Department three months ago after graduating from William Paterson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Skiing, working out, and spending time with family and friends are some of her interests outside of work, Richardson said.
Officer Kenneth Frohnapfel, who has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Jersey City University, joined the Morristown Police Department three months ago. Officer Frohnapfel previously worked as a Class I Special Police Officer with the Paramus Police Department.
His interests include coaching baseball, bonfires, spending time with his immediate family, friends, and pets, and rooting for the New York Yankees, Giants and Devils.
The Morristown Bureau of Police, led by Richardson, maintains an active uniformed patrol, investigative capacity and administrative function for all emergency calls for service based on these numbers. These figures are bolstered by civilian personnel as well as Special Police Officers, officials said.
"Together, we can make our community safer and better for everyone," Corcoran and Richardson said in a joint statement.
