Fly In A Real WWII Airplane In Morristown

Take tours of and fly in real airplanes from World War II.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Ever wondered what it would be like to fly in a World War II era airplane? You can find out this September at Morristown Municipal Airport when the Wings of Freedom Tour brings antique airplanes to Morris County.

The tour stops in Morristown Sept. 4 through Sept. 7. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. Airplane rides range from $400 a person to $3,200 for flight training.

You can check out a restored B-25 Mitchell, a B-17 Flying Fortress, a B-24 Liberator, and one of the last remaining P-51D Mustangs. The event is sponsored by the Collings Foundation, a non-profit that encourages historical education through participation.

In addition to Morristown, the tour will stop at the following airports:

  • Monmouth Executive Airport in Wall, Aug. 22 to Aug. 26
  • Millville Municipal Airport in Millville, Aug. 29 to Aug. 31
  • Cape May County Airport in Cape May, Aug. 31 to Sept. 3.
