Free Lead Screenings on Sept. 8
Lead screenings part of annual Community Health Day, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Headquarters Plaza.

Morristown will be offering free lead poisoning screenings from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 8, during the town's annual Community Health Day, at Headquarters Plaza.
The press release is below.
The Town of Morristown is privileged to be one of nine communities chosen to take part in the Department of Health and Senior Services action plan to increase the number of children screened for lead poisoning. Morristown Division of Health will be conducting capillary Lead Screening as a public health community service on a quarterly basis. The purpose of this screening is to test for lead exposure in children from aged 6 months to 18 years old and pregnant women.
Most children who have lead poisoning do not look or act sick, but even small amounts of lead can make it hard for your child to learn, pay attention, or behave appropriately. A blood test is the only way to tell if your child may have been exposed to lead.
Our next screening is planned for Saturday, September 8,2012 from 9:30am to 12:30 pm during Community Health Day which will be held at HeadquartersPlaza, Speedwell Avenue in Morristown. Please check the website for The Community Health Day advertisement and also for future lead screening dates and locations. Or call the Division of Health at 973 796-1975.
