More Hours, Higher Pay Petition Launched For 'Ticket Taker Guy' After $65K Fundraiser
Community member says donations will run out and beloved Morristown man needs permanent help from AMC theaters.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The donations flooded in like moviegoers to a must-see movie premiere, and now the community wants more for Eric Glover.
Affectionately referred to as “Fluffy,” Glover has been a staple at the Morristown movie theatre inside Headquarters Plaza for decades. When it was learned that he fell on hard times and was homeless for more than 10 months, the community sprung into action, raising more than $65,000 to help him get back on his feet.

Now that the GoFundMe page has been closed to donations, another online effort has begun. Anthony Recenello has started a change.org petition calling on AMC theatres to give Glover full-time work and a raise at his position within the theatre.
The petition was launched a week ago, and has garnered 602 signatures. It seeks a goal of 1,000 signatures.
Recenello wrote on the petition page:
Since 1987, beloved AMC Headquarters’ ticket-taker guy Eric “Fluffy” Glover has made people smile with his absolute dedication to acting like a robotic ticket dispenser machine. But his place of work, AMC Headquarters 10 has cut his hours since returning in 2013 and Eric has been homeless on the streets since March 2015. Not only has Eric been a dedicated, positive, long-time employee of AMC, but he also is unceasingly committed to going above and beyond the normal duties in his position to make sure everyone entering the establishment is smiling ear-to-ear.
There is currently a GoFundMe for $50,000 to help Eric out of homelessness. But for a man to live a financially secure lifestyle, he must be employed full-time. $50,000 will get him by for a year, but a raise and full-time hours will let him live a good life for many years to come.
If you’ve been touched by Eric’s love and commitment to his job, please sign this petition demanding that AMC give Eric a well-deserved andsubstantial raise as well as at least forty hours of employment a week taking tickets for AMC Headquarters 10 (or one of their nearby) movie theaters.
Patch reached out to management at the local theatre and was referred to the company’s corporate headquarters, which did not immediately respond.
