Gov. Murphy Reopens Indoor Pools In NJ Amid Coronavirus Crisis

Gov. Phil Murphy took another step to reopen the economy before the 4th of July weekend,

NEW JERSEY – Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Friday that indoor pools can reopen amid the coronavirus crisis.

Murphy said indoor pools can reopen at 25 percent capacity, as long as social distancing is in place.

The state Department of Health said the order applies to facilities that include conventional pools, hot tubs, spas, wading pools, special purpose pools and water recreation attractions.

  • Churches
  • Cities
  • Common interest communities
  • Counties
  • Day care centers
  • Group home facilities for six or more clients
  • Health spas

  • Parks
  • Private lake, river or bay associations
  • State, county, and municipal agencies
  • Retirement communities
  • Schools
