High-Speed Police Chase Ends With Arrest In Morris County: Cops
The driver ultimately surrendered to Denville Police Headquarters, according to police.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A man is facing several charges after leading Denville Police on a high-speed pursuit through Morris County on Thursday morning, officials said.
According to Denville Police, on Jan. 25, at 1:24 a.m., police observed a black Hyundai Tucson make an abrupt lane change while traveling Route 10 East.
The driver, later identified as Anthony J. Granados, 27, of Morristown, began to accelerate his speed when he noticed the police officer attempting to close the distance with his vehicle.

Once the officer activated their overhead emergency lights and siren, Granados failed to stop and accelerated to speeds of more than 100 mph, police said.
After a brief chase, the officer was able to write down the license plate of the suspect vehicle and immediately terminated the pursuit, police said.

Granados, who was identified during a subsequent police investigation, ultimately surrendered himself to the Denville Township police, authorities said.
Granados was charged with eluding and received further motor vehicle summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, failure to signal, failure to yield, driving on marked lanes and suspended registration, police said.
He was ultimately released pending a court appearance, police said.
