How Are NJ Schools Handling Coronavirus? Take Patch's Survey

NEW JERSEY — In a time of uncertainty thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, one thing's for sure — 2020 is one for the record books at New Jersey schools.

As teachers, parents and students prepared to head back to school, districts across New Jersey were faced with agonizing decisions: Should classes be held in person or remotely? How to best handle the new required safety and sanitization practices? What about sports?

So Patch wants to know: How are things going at your students' district? And how are parents and students feeling about the new policies and procedures? (see poll below).

Right now, about one-third of New Jersey's districts plan to go all-remote, while nearly two-thirds will be doing some sort of hybrid model. Of the districts' plans, 545 were approved by the state (328 of them hybrid, 150 remote, 50 fully in-person and 17 a combination of all), 221 are still under review and 35 have not yet reviewed.

The below survey is not meant to be a scientific poll, with random sampling and margins of error, but is meant only to gauge the sentiments of our readers in an informal way.
