How To Do Business Better In Morris County

The Morris County Economic Development Corporation will hold its 12th annual Business Growth Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Businesses, large and small, are an important part of maintaining and growing townships, and those in Morris County are no different. Attendees of the Morris County Economic Development Corporation's 12th annual Business Growth Forum might learn a thing or two about how their business can be improved.

The Morris County Economic Development Corporation will hold its 12th annual Business Growth Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Birchwood Manor in the Whippany section of Hanover Township. The event, which has been attended in the past by over 200 individuals who represent both business and government, will include a panel, a lunch, and an opportunity to network.

The keynote speaker will be Tim Lizura, president and COO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, an independent state agency that finances small and mid-sized businesses, administers tax incentives to retain and grow jobs, revitalizes communities through redevelopment initiatives, and supports entrepreneurial development by providing access to training and mentoring programs. Lizura will speak on NJ EDA’s incentives to help grow and expand businesses in the state.

The morning business panel will focus on issues facing businesses in Morris County and throughout the state, and featuring three county and regional business leaders including Ed Ahart, chairs the Corporate Practice Group at Schenck, Price, Smith & King, who has served for more than 30 years as a member of the Firm’s Managment Committee; William Miley, General Manager--Alloy & Casting Dover Operations for of Alcoa Power and Propulsion; and Thomas Ripsam, Partner at PwC Strategy & in Florham Park. He focuses on the consumer and media industries, and specializes in developing and implementing strategies to improve sales and marketing effectiveness, and organizational efficiency, with particular emphasis on organization and operating model design.

The event runs from 10:30 a.m., starting with the morning panel, to 1:30 p.m. Registration starts at 10 a.m.
