LISTEN: Man Admits Killing Morristown Native To Police Dispatcher

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The North Carolina man accused of killing his mother and girlfriend in the same week before turning himself in can be heard admitting the alleged crimes to a police dispatcher over the phone.

Brandon Lee, 34, of Cary, North Carolina, but originally from New Brunswick, told the police dispatcher in December that he killed his mother, Christa Lee, 58, a Morristown native, after she attacked him with a knife in an apartment.

During the call, Lee can be heard reporting two homicides to the dispatcher quietly and calmly, explaining his location, how each crime occurred, and that he hopes Jesus will forgive him. Listen to the dispatch call here:

Brandon Lee also confessed to killing his girlfriend, 28-year-old Krystal Juell Hylton, police said.

Christa Lee, whose maiden name is Lassiter, is a Morristown High School alum who graduated in 1975, according to morristowngreen.com, and had attended her class’s 40th anniversary reunion just two months ago.

Christa Lee grew up in Morristown and her father, Dr. James Lassiter, was a dentist in town.

She was interviewed earlier this year by soultrain.com after spending a few months living in California while attending Pepperdine and dancing on the show alongside her twin sister, who was tragically killed in a 1983 car crash.

Brandon Lee is being held without bond and has been charged with double homicide, police said. Murder in North Carolina is punishable by death or life imprisonment without parole.
