Morris Co. Man Who Flashed Children Is Sentenced

A 54-year-old former resident of Morris Township exposed himself to several 14-year-olds while chatting online.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Authorities have sentenced a 54-year-old Morris County man to two years of probation for exposing himself to multiple teenagers while chatting online.

Michael Rave, formerly of Morris Township and now residing in Pennsville Township, pleaded guilty in January to endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact after being charged in May 2022.

Rave was also ordered to continue undergoing sex offender therapy and will be registered as a sex offender under Megan's Law, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, the investigation began with a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which referred to video files depicting a minor's sexual exploitation.

Authorities say Rave possessed numerous videos of himself engaged in an online website called Omegle, where he exposed himself to several 14-year-old victims.

On the free online chat platform Omegle, users are matched at random for private, one-on-one conversations.

According to officials, law enforcement has identified the victims in these cases.
