Morris Man Shared Child Porn On Social Media Platforms, Police Say

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County man is facing charges after police say they found child pornography in his possession.

Antonino LaRosa, 26, of Morris Plains, was arrested and charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child sexual abuse materials), said Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

The investigation began in April 2023, according to officials, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received complaints via Discord Inc. that a user had uploaded suspected child porn files to its messaging platform.

Additional complaints were received by NCMEC from Reddit Inc., who claimed that a user with the same contact information and IP address had uploaded a suspected child porn file to its social media platform, Carroll said.

The IP address in question is said to be linked to LaRosa's home, police said. An additional investigation uncovered direct messages from LaRosa's account discussing child sex abuse material.

LaRosa was later charged on a complaint-summons and has a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 2.
