A celebration of life service is planned for the Morristown High School alum on Sept. 15. Seton Hall University is also planning a memorial.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morristown and Seton Hall University communities continue to reel from shock and heartbreak after a Morristown native and university student passed away on the South Orange campus earlier this week.

An outpouring of messages expressing sorrow, love and condolence were seen online for the family of Julian "Myles" Mislavsky, 23, a Morristown High School graduate and a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity.

Mislavsky passed away after falling from a parking deck on Sept. 11, authorities said.

According to his obituary, a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Mislavsky’s family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to DBSA New Jersey (Depression Bipolar Support Alliance).

“As our community continues to mourn the loss of our friend and our student Myles Mislavsky, we want to remind you of the support services available on campus through CAPS (973-761-9500) and Campus Ministry (973-761-9545). Please reach out if you or someone you know needs help,” school administrators said.

“My heart breaks for his parents and for all those who loved him,” Interim President Mary Meehan told The Setonian. “Seton Hall is a tight knit community and when we lose someone, we all share the sadness.”

Meehan wrote a letter to the school community on Tuesday about the tragedy, saying, "No family member or loved one should ever have to receive news of this nature, and they will need our love and support in the coming days. During this difficult period, I urge all of us to take care of one another and offer your support as needed. Let us offer our prayers for this young man, his family and loved ones, and all those affected by tragic loss."

The South Orange Police Department said that the fatal fall took place around 12:15 p.m. from the roof of an on-campus parking deck.

"At this time, a preliminary investigation reveals no evidence of foul play," Chief Kyle Kroll said Tuesday.
