This Morristown Ice Cream Spot Is One Of The Best In NJ, Report Says
A Best of NJ list naming the best ice cream shops in the state featured a popular Morristown location.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — As the temperatures begin to cool, ushering in the fall season, there's no better way to bid farewell to the summer than with an icy, sweet treat.
And, according to a recent ranking, there is no better spot in Morristown to get an ice cream cone than Guerriero Gelato.
The website Best of NJ put together a list of the best ice cream shops in New Jersey, and Morristown's Guerriero Gelato ranked as one of the top North Jersey spots.

Guerriero Gelato, based in Caldwell, opened its fifth location at 64 South St., replacing the former Kilwins back in January. Mike and Breanna Guerriero took over the flagship location of Guerriero Gelato in 2014, when it was known as Gelotti Ice Cream.
In a previous interview with Patch, Guerriero said that he began working for the company in 2005 and that in 2014 he was tasked with bringing new life to the Caldwell shop, which had hit a rough patch.

Since then, the company has experienced tremendous success, even competing in and winning the Gelato Festival North American Finals in 2019, ranking them as the number one gelato in America.
Guerriero and his team were again invited to Italy the following year for an international competition, where they finished sixth in the globe. Guerriero claimed to be the top 100's only chef under 30 and the only American in the top 20.
The company's move to Morristown seemed like a natural trajectory for the family, according to Guerriero, who had recently moved to Morris County with his family.
"It's been something that we've talked, we've spoken about for years, and now living in the Morris County area, we go to Morristown, you know, to eat and to hang out, and it just seems like a happening area… So we were just dying to come in," Guerriero previously told Patch.
Guerriero Gelato, in addition to its traditional Italian gelato flavors, also operates as a traditional ice cream parlor, serving a multitude of frozen treats. Menu favorites include ice cream cakes and miniature ice cream sandwiches made with freshly baked cookies.
The store menu rotates frequently, and new flavors are introduced on a regular basis. According to Guerriero, the Morristown store has more than 60 flavors available every day.
Popular ice cream and gelato flavors include blueberry basil, coffee Oreo crunch, a seasonal pumpkin pie, banana pudding and tiramisu.
Guerriero Gelato also offers non-dairy ice cream flavors.

Guerriero Gelato is open Monday and Tuesday from 3 to 10 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 10 p.m., Friday from 1 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 9 p.m.
