Morristown Medical Center Named Top NJ Hospital
U.S. News & World Report gave the hospital top honors in its 2018-2019 rankings.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Medical Center has been named the best hospital in New Jersey in a new ranking released by U.S. News & World Report for 2018-2019.
The hospital was also named one of the top 20 hospitals nationwide for cardiology and heart surgery, and one of the top 50 in the nation for gastroenterology and GI surgery. In addition, it was the number four hospital in the New York Metro area.
In addition, it was rated high performing (in the top ten percent of all programs nationwide) in the following areas: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, geriatrics, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology.

“The medical, clinical and support teams at Morristown Medical Center have worked diligently to implement strong safety measures, advance clinical excellence, enable more seamless transitions to home or other medical facilities, and ensure convenient access to quality medical care in our communities,” said Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, President, Morristown Medical Center. “Being recognized as the top hospital in the state is an incredible testament to the work being done by our medical staff, team members, community partnerships, and innovative collaborations.”
Over 4,500 hospitals nationwide were evaluated by U.S. News & World Report for their rankings. Measures such as risk-adjusted survival and readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety and quality of nursing are taking into consideration for the rankings.
