Morristown Placed Under Winter Storm Watch From Monday to Tuesday

Morristown has been placed under a Winter Storm Watch, which is in effect from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning, as the National Weather Service says a “one of the largest snow storms of the winter will impact [the] area Monday into Tuesday.”

According to the alert, Morris County should expect “heavy snow with blowing and drifting” and 6 to 16 inches of snow accumulations.

The National Weather Services states that although “there is still some uncertainty as to the track and intensity of a developing nor’easter later Monday, there is little doubt that snow will affect travel Monday and Tuesday.”

Snow will develop early Monday morning, slowing the morning commute, according to the NWS.

“The much more important portion of this storm begins sometime Monday afternoon or evening” before winding down Tuesday.

The alert also warns of a “potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.”
