Morristown St. Patrick's Day Parade Activities Ready To Roll

One of Morris County's largest annual events to kick-off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – It’s finally March, which means it’s time for St. Patrick’s Day!

One of the state’s largest single-day gatherings is gearing up for another great event, set for Saturday, March 12 in Morristown.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been going strong annually since 1979. The 2016 Grand Marshal is Morristown native and second-generation parade leader John Hyland. The annual Grand Marshal reception is set for Friday, March 4 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Madison Hotel, where music, bagpipers, hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine will be on hand.

Admission is $85 at the door, cash or check only.

The pre-parade festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. on The Green with Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones, the National Anthem, Irish Step Dancing, Chalking of the Shamrocks by the Special Olympics and other activities.

Some 70,000 spectators come out annually to see the parade along South Street in Morristown.
