Mysterious Drones Flying Over Morris County Spark Investigation: Feds
The Morris County Prosecutor's Office confirmed that they are aware of the mysterious drone activity and are monitoring the situation.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Federal authorities are investigating reports of multiple drones spotted flying over Morris County on Monday night.
The county prosecutor's office confirmed Tuesday that officers on patrol observed drone activity but stated there is no known threat to the public from the sightings.
Authorities did not disclose whether they knew who was operating the drones or the reason for their presence.

Several agencies, including the county sheriff's office, the office of emergency management, multiple municipal police departments, and state and federal law enforcement, are aware of the drone reports and "will continue to coordinate, monitor, and investigate" the drone activity, the office wrote in a statement.
The reported sightings gained attention on social media platforms Monday night.

Live Storm Chasers, a weather group on Facebook, shared reports of five "unauthorized" drones flying in the area. However, the prosecutor's office did not confirm the number of drones operating in the vicinity.
"This joint statement is being issued in response to rumors about the drone activity spreading on social media. We encourage the public to be mindful that what they read online may not be accurate," the prosecutor's office stated.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, in collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency agencies, stated that they will continue their investigation.
They urge anyone with information about the incident to contact their local police department directly and to only dial 911 in case of an emergency.
