New 125-Unit Luxury Rental Community Opens In Morris Plains

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — The American, a new 125-unit luxury rental community, officially opened this month near the Morris Plains train station, bringing a modern lifestyle experience, developer JMF Properties announced.

Located at 1000 The American Road, The American delivers 125 brand-new luxury rental residences to Morris Plains, along with a new pedestrian walkway that connects the community to the train station and the many shops and restaurants in the borough’s downtown.

Monthly rental rates for the community’s one- and two-bedroom apartments start from $2,775. New-construction specials are also available for a limited time. Initial occupancy is available.

Fifty of the units will qualify for the borough's obligation to provide affordable housing under the state Housing Element and Fair Share Plan.

"The American brings a new type of luxury housing to historic Morris Plains, one that offers renters not only beautiful new apartments, but a complete lifestyle package," said Joe Forgione, the Founder and Principal of JMF Properties. Amenities will include gourmet kitchens, oversized windows with custom shade treatments, high-performance heating-cooling systems and keyless entry locks with a Bluetooth remote.

Residents have access to more than 20,000 square feet of amenities, including a lobby and lounge, a cutting-edge fitness center, and a separate personal training studio.

A business center with a coffee bar, conference rooms, and private enclosed workspaces, a second-floor lounge with a fireplace and a coffee bar, a theatre room, a golf simulator and a billiards room round out the amenity offerings.

Residents of The American will also be less than a mile from two retail properties being developed by JMF and partners: Morris Marketplace, 140,000 square feet of retail space and a variety of community-oriented attractions, and Cedar Village, where a brand-new 7-Eleven with gas recently celebrated its grand opening on March 14.
