NJ State PBA Endorses Sherill In NJ-11
Sherrill, a Democrat, was endorsed by The New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association on Friday.

The New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (NJSPBA) endorsed Democratic Mikie Sherrill in the race for New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. She is running against Republican Jay Webber.
“As a U.S. Navy veteran and Assistant U.S. Attorney, Mikie Sherrill knows what public service means, and has worked with law enforcement throughout her career," NJSPBA president Patrick Colligan said in a statement. “She is a leader who will stand with our officers to make sure they get the grants and funding they need so they can focus on keeping our communities safe. The NJSPBA is proud to endorse Mikie Sherrill.”
Sherill is a former federal prosecutor and Navy veteran. This is not the first time she had garnered support from law enforcement officials; Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik has previously spoken in support of Sherrill.

“At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, I had the honor of working with the fine men and women of New Jersey’s law enforcement agencies,” Sherrill said. “Their dedication to their jobs and commitment to keeping our communities safe deserves respect from our leaders in Congress. I am grateful to have their support for my campaign, and will work hard to fight for their interests in Washington to make their jobs easier here in New Jersey.”
Webber has also garnered support from law enforcement officials; Sussex County Sheriff Michael Strada and Morris County Sheriff Jim Gannon have previously voiced their support of the current State Assemblyman.

"From fighting to make sure they have the tools they need to do their job right, to insisting that their pension fund is properly supported, Jay will always support Law Enforcement. He has been endorsed by Morris County Sheriff Jim Gannon, Sussex County Sheriff Mike Strada and dozens of additional members of the law enforcement community from around the district," Webber campaign spokesperson Ronica Cleary said.
Both candidates have earned endorsements from the White House. President Trump tweeted his support of Webber late last month, and Vice President Mike Pence campaigned on his behalf. Sherrill earned former Vice President Joe Biden's endorsement earlier this year.
