Officials ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Morristown

The 33-year-old man was fatally injured after being hit by a train last week, officials said.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Transit officials have identified a man who was struck and killed by a New York City-bound Morris & Essex Line train last week.

The pedestrian was hit near the Morristown station around 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Jan. 31, said New Jersey Transit officials.

A spokesperson identified the victim as 33-year-old Victor Alfonso Teran Rojas, and said Rojas had no known address.

There were no injuries reported to the about 30 customers or crew on board after the collision. The train had left Dover at 5:50 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station in New York at 7:14 p.m.

New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
