Only Democrats Put In Bids For Morristown Town Council
No Republicans have filed for election in Morristown, setting up an uncontested general election this November.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Two of Morristown's four wards will have contested primaries for Town council, but none will have contested general elections. According to the Morris County Clerk's Office, all declared candidates are Democrats.
Wards 2 and 3 will see contested primaries, while wards 1 and 4 just have one candidate each. The candidates are vying for four-year council terms.
Oliver M. Starnes is running unopposed for ward 1; Sandi Mayer is running unopposed in ward 4.

In ward 2, current council vice president Hiliari Davis will face off against Tawanna Cotten. In ward 3, incumbent Stefan Armington will be challenged by Steven Pylypchuk.
Current ward 1 council member Robert Iannaccone and ward 4 council member Alison Deeb are not seeking reelection. Their terms both expire on Dec. 31, 2019.

The primary election is on June 4 and the general election is on Nov. 5. All petitions are pending certification by the County Clerk's Office.
