Police: Drunk Driver Went Wrong Way Around Green

West Orange woman was nearly twice over the legal limit early Sunday morning, police said.

A West Orange resident was allegedly drunk when she drove the wrong way around the Green before turning the wrong way down Market Street, Morristown Police said.

Stephanie Scagliozzi, 28, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and failure to produce proof of insurance.

Officer Joseph Heuneman responded to a report of a vehicle going the wrong way around the Green Sunday at about 2:30 a.m.

Heuneman conducted a motor vehicle stop and asked the driver, Scagliozzi, how many drinks she had that evening, police said.

She first said "one glass of wine," police said. Later, during field sobriety tests, Scagliozzi said she had had "two glasses of wine," police said.

While at the , she told officers she had drank two Long Island Iced Teas, according to the report.

A subsequent Blood Alcohol Content breath test indicated Scagliozzi had a BAC of .15 percent, or nearly double the legal limit of .08. 

She was later released into the custody of a friend.
