Police: Stranger Offered Young Boy a Ride
Incident occurred at intersection of Mills Street and Sussex Avenue on Sept. 16.

Morristown Police are reporting that a male driver approached an 8-year-old child offering a ride as he was on his way home from school.
On Sept. 16, between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m., the boy was at the intersection of Mills Street and Sussex Avenue when a man—described as an older white male with gray hair, driving a white vehicle–asked the child if "he needed a ride," Capt. Steven Sarinelli said. The child declined and ran away, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or who witnessed anything suspicious is encouraged to contact the Investigative Unit of the Morristown Police Department at 973-292-6737. Additionally, information may be provided anonymously through Morris County Crime Stoppers at 973-COP-CALL.
