MORRISTOWN, NJ — Former federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York and best-selling author Preet Bharara has been announced as the Morristown Festival of Book's keynote speaker.

The festival will take place on Oct. 11 and 12, with Bharara speaking on the 11th. The keynote address is held at the Mayo Performing Arts Center; tickets are on sale now.

Bharara was the U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2009 to 2017. His book, "Doing Justice: A Prosecutor’s Thoughts on Crime, Punishment, and the Rule of Law" was a New York Time's best-seller. It takes a look at the mechanics of the justice system and uses case histories and personal experiences to demonstrate why the rule of law is important in a society.

Following the keynote speech, a free, all-day Main Festival will take place on the 12th. Over 50 authors will speak and host question and answer sessions at locations in Morristown, including book signings at the Vail Mansion.
