Rape Case Against Former Linebacker From Morris To Be Dropped: Lawyer

Two former football players charged in the rape of a woman during a house party will have the charges dismissed upon completing a program.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A former college football player from Morris County will not face charges in the reported rape of a woman during a house party in 2022, his attorney said.

Daunte White, 21 and his teammate Marcel Mami were accused of sexually assaulting a fellow Saint Francis University student during a house party near the Pennsylvania campus in 2022.

Court records show White, of Wharton and Mami, of Maryland will complete a pre-trial intervention program called Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, or A.R.D. The charges will be dropped after 12 months if they complete the program.

Both have maintained their innocence since the charges were announced last January, and White's defense attorney said he was planning to continue his academic and football career. Neither has been enrolled at the university since 2022, according to WJAC-TV.

"We were confident in success at trial, should it have come to it," said attorney Matthew I. Jaynes, Esq. "However, we were able to reach an alternative resolution whereby Mr. White has entered into the ARD Program."
