Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Morristown
Live Christmas trees can be a fire hazard as we welcome in the new year. Here's how to safely remove your tree:

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Are you about to take down your freshly cut Christmas tree but don't know what to do with it now that the holiday season has passed?
Morristown will once again be hosting a free, live Christmas tree recycling program, which is available to all residents from now, until the end of January 2023.
Residents interested in participating in the recycling program are reminded that all lights, garlands, ornaments, stands and any other objects from the tree should be removed before placing it curbside.

Metal-reinforced wreaths will not be collected and should be placed out on your bulk garbage collection days. Metal-filled artificial trees and wreaths should be placed out for collection on your scheduled Appliance day.
Fire officials recommend that live trees be disposed of after Christmas or when they become dry. According to the National Fire Protection Association, dried-out trees pose a fire hazard and can burn much faster than watered trees.
