Second Body Recovered From Water Of Morris County Lake: Police
Just days after the body of a missing boater was found in Lake Hopatcong, a second body has been found by police.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Police discovered the body of a missing boater in Lake Hopatcong last week; now, just a few days later, the body of another man was discovered there after an overnight search, according to police.
State Police divers discovered the body of Edward Sikora, 80, of Upper Saddle River, beneath the surface of the water on Tuesday, according to officials.
On Monday, troopers from the New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau were dispatched to the Henderson Cove area of Lake Hopatcong at 1:59 p.m., following a report of an overdue boater, according to Sgt. Philip Curry.

However, divers were unable to find Sikora after an initial search on Monday, according to State Police.
According to Curry, the official cause of death is pending an autopsy, and the case is still under investigation.

Sikora's death follows that of a 76-year-old man whose body was discovered submerged in the lake on July 18. Curry stated that at 7:05 p.m., troopers responded to a missing person report near a Lake Hopatcong marina on Brady Road in Jefferson.
That man has since been identified as Robert Stewart, of Annandale.
"The incident is still under investigation, but nothing of a suspicious nature has been discovered at this time," Curry said.
