MORRISTOWN, NJ — There was a small chemical spill in an operating room early Thursday morning, a Morristown Medical Center spokesperson said.

The Morristown Fire Department responded to the small formaldehyde spill, Louise Gonzalez said. The spill was limited to a specific area, Gonzalez said.

Firefighters called Morris County Hazmat, who decided not to respond because the spill was contained. The fire department treated the area with a formaldehyde polymerizer.
