South Street In Morristown Targeted For Repaving In 2019

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The annual list of county roadway projects has been released, and Morristown will see a major downtown road paved this year.

South Street between Madison Avenue and Blackberry Lane are on the list to be paved this year. The 1.2 mile stretch of road was originally planned for 2018, and is expected to be completed this year.

Across the county, 25 miles of roads in 23 different towns will be paved. Work is expected to start in April and proceed as weather permits.

These county projects are in addition to any state or local projects on deck for 2019.

"Keeping our county road network in excellent shape is of key importance to our residents and businesses, and to ensuring Morris County’s place as a first class, top- rated county," said Freeholder Director Doug Cabana.

The largest section of road is a 4.4 mile stretch of North Road and Dover Chester Road in Chester and Randolph.
