Stay Informed During Dog Days of Summer

Fewer meetings, but enough to keep you "in the know."

We understand: It's summer. Many of you may be getting your Morristown Patch fix by smartphone, on a beach, somewhere far, far away. We understand, and we're jealous.

But, just because it's summer doesn't mean the world stops (it just slows down a little, probably from the humidity). In fact, there is a Planning Board meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Also, there are several meetings in August you'll want to mark your calendars for. If the meeting does not have an agenda yet on the town website, make sure to check back the day of, or even the day before, as it should be available by then.

  1. You Need to Know About the Zoning Board: Also called the Zoning Board of Adjustment, this is the part of town government that deals with issues like when a business wants to move into an area of town deemed for residential purpose only and so on. The next meeting is at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at
  2. You Need to Know About the Speedwell Avenue Redevelopment Meeting: Originally scheduled for this month, it was postponed due to illness. It's tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in the at Town Hall. Check out
  3. You Need to Know About a Special Meeting of the Planning Board: If you did not get to catch the Aug. 9 meeting, the Speedwell Avenue Redevelopment Plan also will be presented at a special meeting of the Planning Board, set for 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 11, also in the Senior Center.
  4. You Need to Know About the Morristown Parking Authority Meeting: Want to know what's going on with parking in Morristown, a hot topic? Then, head over the at 6 p.m. Aug. 16, for their public meeting.
  5. You Need to Know About the Only Town Council Meeting in August: Since you'll already been out and about for the Morristown Parking Authority meeting, be sure to head over to at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, for the Town Council's only meeting of August.
