5K at Ginty Field Sunday To Benefit Connor's House

Race is followed by an award presentation.

The loss of a child is one of the greatest fears for all parents. For the parents of Connor Scott Millard, those fears became a reality in 2007 when their son passed away at the age of 8 from significant medical and developmental challenges.

In 2009, his parents turned their tragedy into hope for other children by founding Connor's House in memory of their son.

Connor’s House services provide the support needed to ensure families of children with life-shortening conditions have all the supports and resources needed to manage the 24/7 care requirements of their children while enjoying as normal and vital a family life as possible.

Currently Connor’s House provides support services for more than 65 families in New Jersey and the eastern United States, with clients coming through word of mouth, according to its website. To date all Connor’s House services have been provided by volunteers, and no family has or will ever be asked to pay for them.

To help fund these programs, several fundraising efforts have started, one of which is the inaugural Connor’s House 5K. The Connor’s House 5K is open to all skill levels.
