‘Suspicious’ Death In Morristown Investigated By Officials

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The discovery of a dead body in Morristown has been deemed “suspicious” by law enforcement, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to officials, a man’s dead body was found at around 9 a.m. on June 13, at Patriots Path and Cory Road by the railroad tracks.

An investigation into the death is being conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morristown Bureau of Police, and NJ Transit Police.

“This is an active investigation,” said Morris County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Meghan Knab. “At this point, the death is deemed suspicious.”

Neither the identity of the man nor the reasoning for the death being “suspicious” has been released. Knab added that “further information will be disseminated when appropriate.”

According to the Morris County Parks Commission, Patriots Path is made up of 70 miles of trails. It is a popular destination for hikers, walkers, joggers, and bicyclists.
