Underage Driver Charged With DWI After Hit-and-Run Crash In Morris County
Authorities say a 20-year-old driver was found with an open bottle of vodka on the passenger side floor of her car.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A 20-year-old from Morris County was charged with driving under the influence after fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crash in Mount Olive Township, according to police.
Reyna Miller, 20, of Flanders, was arrested in the parking lot of the Overlook Apartments in Mount Olive Township following the crash, which occurred on the evening of Feb. 1. Police said Miller was alone in the car at the time of the crash, which took place shortly after 9 p.m.
While speaking with Miller, Mount Olive Police Officer Justin Rodriguez noticed a strong odor of alcohol and signs of impairment. He also said he observed an open bottle of vodka on the passenger side floor of the vehicle, prompting him to administer a field sobriety test, police said.

Miller was asked to exit the vehicle for the test and was subsequently arrested, authorities said.
She was taken to police headquarters, where she was charged with DWI, underage driving with a BAC, reckless driving, consuming alcohol in a vehicle, possessing an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, and several other related offenses.

Miller was ultimately released to a sober driver pending a court hearing. No further details about the crash were immediately available.
