Was Murphy's Reassignment Handled Right?
No one knows, and those who do know aren't saying, why the Morristown High School principal has been moved after seven years.
It was a long meeting. Filled with emotion, some of it anger, a lot of it sadness, from several hundred people.
Amidst the waiting throngs, , many still wanted to know one thing: why? Why was Murphy supposed to be reassigned as principal of the after serving at principal for seven years? Why did they decide on giving her the title of "Director of Human Resources and Community Engagement" instead, one year before she said she plans to retire?
Did the school district handle the situation as best it could? Could they have done better or would everything have looked bad regardless of how it was handled? BOE President Nancy Bangiola, after the meeting, said she didn't think the situation could have been done differently.
