Brian Murphy’s been doing funny stuff for a long time.
Now he gets to do it on MTV, not far from his hometown, and have fun doing it.
The Rockaway native is the host of the new late night television show “Middle of the Night Show” on MTV, which aims to reinvent the talk-show format by recording outdoors on the streets of New York City.

Murphy has spent his post-college career working for CollegeHumor, according to dailyrecord.com. The writer and performer will lead the new show, debuting Thursday night, and have a different celebrity co-host for each episode.
