Webber, Sherrill Begin Running Campaign Ads In NJ-11
Both candidates are running ads highlighting their professional experiences and roles are parents.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — It's the August before an election, and that means campaign ads are kicking into full gear. Both candidates for New Jersey's 11th Congressional district, Democrat Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jay Webber, have begun running advertisements promoting their campaigns.
Sherrill began her ad buy first, with her ads beginning in cable and digital on Aug. 7; Webber's ads were released this week. While Webber's ad focused on his work as a state assemblyman, Sherrill's focused on her past as a Navy veteran and federal prosecutor. Both highlight their role as parents.

“For decades the people of New Jersey have been footing the bill and paying the price of Congress’ inability to work in a bipartisan manner with input from both parties,” said Sherrill. “That’s why I’m running for Congress. We need new leadership in Congress and leaders who will put partisan politics aside to get the job done for families and the communities they serve - especially here in New Jersey.”

"Jay has a powerful story to tell as a husband, father, tax cutter, and strong bi-partisan leader," said Phil Valenziano, Campaign Manager. "We're excited to kick off our advertising campaign with a positive ad that shows voters in North Jersey exactly what kind of Congressman they can expect in Jay."
The two are vying for the seat being vacated by longtime Representative Rodney Frelinghuysen, who has represented the district for 23 years. The district is centered on Morris County, and includes several towns in Essex, Passaic and Sussex Counties (a full list is included at the end of the article). Although traditionally considered a solidly Republican area, the Cook Political Report is now considering the race to "lean Democratic."
