Airline Plans Major Hiring Wave At Newark Airport In New Jersey
The company plans to hire more than 2,500 Newark employees before the end of 2026.
NEWARK, NJ — United Airlines is planning to carry out a major wave of job hiring in Newark, the company announced this week.
According to a Tuesday message from United, it expects to hire more than 2,500 Newark employees before the end of 2026.
The company already employs more than 14,000 people in the Newark/New York City area, including more than 3,000 pilots at its pilot base and more than 5,700 flight attendants.

United said it plans to serve more than 160 domestic and international destinations from Newark Airport this fall and winter – more than any other airline in the New York City area – adding flights to cities like Rome, Venice, Porto, Marrakesh and Dublin.
Domestically, the airline will add flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale and new cities including Palm Springs, California; Columbia, South Carolina; and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In addition to Newark, the airline also maintains U.S. hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
