Booker Again Comes to Aid of a Dog

For the second time this year, Booker helps rescue a pooch from reportedly harsh conditions.

That doggone mayor is at it again.

Cory Booker responded to a tweet June 27 from a private citizen who expressed concern over the welfare of a dog being kept in a tiny crate at a Goldsmith Avenue home. The mayor of the state’s largest city and Democratic candidate for US Senate then went to the address himself, describing the conditions via Twitter as “Inhumane & cruel” to the animal.

Booker contacted animal control officers, who brought the dog to a shelter.

This is not the first time the famously hands-on mayor has come to the aid of a canine reportedly in distress. In January, responding to a tweet sent to him from a television news reporter, Booker showed up at a home where a dog was reportedly being kept outside in freezing temperatures.
