ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing, 17-year-old girl in Essex County, authorities said Tuesday.

Jarolin Jimenez, 17, of Newark, was reported missing Thursday, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Jimenez was last seen on the 400-block of Avon Avenue in Newark on Friday, Dec. 12 around 5 p.m. Her family believes she may be in Brooklyn, police said.

Jimenez is Hispanic, 5 feet 5 inches and 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a black jacket, white sweater and carrying a bookbag.

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
