City Man Arraigned on Several Sexual Assault Charges

A Newark man was arraigned Wednesday on charges he sexually assaulted five women and girls earlier this year.

Hakim Jones, 23, faces more than three dozen charges, including kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, unlawful use of a handgun and other offenses.

Between March 5 and March 13, prosecutors say Jones threatened lone women or pairs of women with a gun, forcing them to go to a remote area, where he sexually assaulted and robbed them.

Bail was previously set on March 19 at $600,000 cash or bond.  Jones faces life in prison if he is found guilty of the charges.
