Fatally Wounded Man Shoots 2 Attackers At Newark Recording Studio, Police Say
Four people were shot at a local music studio. One man has been charged with murder. Another fired in "self-defense," police say.
NEWARK, NJ — A New Jersey man has been charged with murder after gunfire at a recording studio in Newark left two people dead earlier this month, authorities say.
The shooting took place around 8 p.m. on the 700-block of Clinton Avenue at Platinum Sound Studio.
Police arrived at the studio to find four people with gunshot wounds. A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was pronounced dead at University Hospital at 8:41 p.m. Two other men were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Video surveillance shows Naim Andrews, 20, of Newark, and Osayuwamen Iyamu, 20, of Newark, attacking Namir Bynum, 20, of Newark.
Prosecutors said that Andrews is seen shooting Bynum. Then – in an apparent “act of self-defense” – Bynum fires a weapon at his assailants, fatally striking Iyamu and wounding Andrews.
Andrews remains hospitalized as of Monday, authorities said. He was charged with first-degree murder and related weapons offenses.
The fourth person injured in the shooting was treated at the hospital and released on the same evening, prosecutors said.
