Drug Dealer Had 109 Vials of Crack, Bags of Heroin, Sheriff Says

Sheriff's officers find drugs at Georgia King Village apartment Saturday, according to report.

Officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Office arrested a city man Saturday who was allegedly dealing drugs from an apartment at the Georgia King Village apartments.

Jamar Singleton, 29, was arraigned Monday in Superior Court on a number of narcotics charges, including intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing complex, Sheriff Armando Fontoura said.

Officers from the Bureau of Narcotics executed a search warrant at apartment 12E and discovered 109 vials of crack cocaine, another 12 baggies of the drug, as well as two envelopes of heroin, Fontoura said.

For several months, the sheriff’s office has been conducting narcotics investigations in the North Ward and elsewhere in the city in response to residents’ complaints. Dozens of people have been charged during the course of the operation.

Singleton is being held in the Essex County jail on $60,000 bail.
